Suction on bowl and plate works best on smooth, clean and glossy surfaces. Will not effectively on work on uneven, damaged or rough finished surfaces.

To get the best suction attachment, slightly dampen the suction base & the surface you wish to attach it to with a damp cloth. Press the middle of the bowl/plate to ensure the whole suction base is in contact with the table, without any air pockets.
